Sam Kongsamut is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as an Associate Fellow at Drew University's Research Institute for Scientists Emeriti, Kongsamut actively engages in undergraduate research projects while also holding key leadership roles at the Institute for Life Science Entrepreneurship and BioInvenu Corporation as Vice President of Business Development. Kongsamut co-founded BryoLogyx and has been instrumental in developing cancer immunotherapy solutions while contributing to various consulting and advisory positions, including as President of Rudder Serendip LLC. A past interim CEO at Biochron Therapeutics and Executive Director at Neurotrope Bioscience, Kongsamut has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing therapeutic innovations in neuroscience and immuno-oncology. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Neuropharmacology from the University of Chicago and an MS in Biology from the University of Illinois Chicago, among other degrees.

The Institute for Life Science Entrepreneurship (ILSE) is a newly formed organization structured to become a uniquely effective model for academic, industry, and entrepreneurial collaboration. The Institute's mission is to catalyze and accelerate the translation of breakthrough discoveries in the life sciences into safe and effective pharmaceutical, biological, medical device and biotechnology products. It has been designed to link together time-critical resources on a large scale from a broad spectrum of disciplines and players in academia and industry to advance innovation, creativity and entrepreneurism (ICE) in the life sciences. The differentiating factors are the scale of the collaborative enterprise and the degree of integration of academic and industrial science.
