Ken Fasman has a long and distinguished career in the field of protein science and research. Ken began their career in 1988 as a Founder and Partner at BME Systems, Inc. In 1993, they took on the role of Informatics Director at the GDB Human Genome Database at Johns Hopkins. In 1996, they became the Director of Sequencing Informatics at the Whitehead Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research. In 1998, they were appointed as the Director of Research Informatics at the Astra Bioinformatics Center. From 1999 to 2007, they held various roles at AstraZeneca, including Drug Development Strategy & Performance, Vice President for R&D Information and Knowledge Management, and Vice President for R&D Informatics. In 2008, they became the Vice President and Chief Science Officer, as well as the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, at the Adelson Medical Research Foundation. From 2014 to 2022, they held various roles at The Jackson Laboratory, including Senior Vice President for Research, Vice President for Research, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, and Consultant. Ken is currently serving as President and CEO at the Institute for Protein Innovation.
Ken Fasman received their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University in 1981. Ken then went on to obtain their PhD in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1989.
