Hamid Karimi-Rouzbahani is a researcher and biomedical engineer currently affiliated with The University of Queensland and Mater since October 2022. With a strong background in engineering and a focus on method development through machine learning in neuroimaging, Karimi-Rouzbahani explores key questions in cognitive neuroscience, particularly concerning visual recognition, internal brain state modulation, and sensory and cognitive process encoding. Previous positions include Newton International Fellow at the University of Cambridge, postdoctoral and honorary research roles at Macquarie University, lab management and medical device development at NeuroTekTronix, and university lecturing at Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University. Academic qualifications consist of a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University, an MS in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology, and a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University.
