Nile Johnson

Nile Johnson currently serves as the Senior Director of Applied Trust and Safety at the Institute for Security and Technology since September 2023, alongside a position as a Board Member on the American University Alumni Board. Previously, Nile Johnson held roles including Advisory Board Member at Marketplace Risk and Trust & Safety at Google from 2020 to 2023. Additional experience includes serving as a Board Director at Hearken, Inc., Manager of Corporate Responsibility at Juul Labs, and a Field Organizer for Hillary for America. Nile Johnson's diplomatic career spanned from 2009 to 2016 with the U.S. Department of State, covering Washington, D.C., Sub-Saharan Africa, and Western Europe, as well as intensive French language studies at the Foreign Service Institute. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in International Affairs from American University and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Spelman College, complemented by executive education at The London School of Economics.
