John Atasie, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. John started their career in 2000 as a Management Intern at FirstBank Nigeria, where they assisted with various banking tasks such as opening accounts and processing transfers.
John then joined Riskswise Insurance Brokers Ltd in 2007 as a Customers Relationship Officer, where they handled customer transactions and calculated premiums. In 2008, they interned as a Risk Analyst at ExxonMobil, where they assisted with insurance renewals and database management.
Moving forward, John worked as a Senior Underwriter at Cornerstone Insurance Plc from 2009 to 2011, where they prepared quotations and produced policy documents. John then joined FBNInsurance as a Claims Manager from 2011 to 2013, where they set up and managed the Central Claims Processing Unit.
In 2013, John joined The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles as a Case Manager, where they coordinated re-entry programs and provided support to offenders. John then worked at Hines as a Facilities Advisor from 2015 to 2018.
From 2017 to 2023, John held multiple roles at the Institute for Supply Management, including Vice President, where they oversaw budget planning and directed supplier diversity initiatives. John also served as a Local Director and Executive Board Member, managing different committees and programs.
In 2018, John joined Baylor College of Medicine as a Procurement Specialist, where they integrated vendor relationship management and improved accounts payable accuracy. John also worked as a Supply Chain Analyst, assisting with purchasing tasks.
Most recently, John joined Apache Corporation in 2019, where they have held roles such as Global Supplier Qualification Lead, Source-to-Pay (S2P) Systems Analyst, and currently, Global Contracting & Procurement. At Apache, they focused on supplier qualification, system management, and procurement activities.
Overall, John Atasie has demonstrated expertise in procurement, supply chain management, and relationship building across various industries.
John Atasie has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Supply Chain Management & Logistics from the University of Houston-Downtown. John also holds a Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management from the same institution. Prior to their MBA, John earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Insurance/Actuarial-Science from Imo State University. John started their education journey with an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accounting from Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, Nigeria.
