Breanna Edwards

Breanna Edwards is an accomplished communications professional with a robust background in journalism and marketing. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications at the Institute for Sustainable Communities since February 2021, Breanna has previously held roles as a Senior Communications Officer and Communications Officer within the same organization. Prior experience includes a position as Editor for News, Politics and Issues at Essence Communications Inc. from September 2018 to February 2021 and as a News Editor at The Root, where Breanna managed the breaking news team and contributed to daily content production focused on the black community. Earlier career experiences encompass reporting for Politico, covering significant political events, and writing on a national scale. Academically, Breanna holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in Print Journalism and Spanish Studies from American University.
