Michael Liebhold is a distinguished fellow and retired principal technologist at the Institute for the Future, where research focuses on the technological foundations of tomorrow's world. With a career spanning several decades, Liebhold has held various prominent roles, including senior researcher at IFTF and principal at Starhill Networks, where private research development revolved around geospatial media and contextual computing. Additional experience includes roles as a visiting researcher at Intel Labs, chief technology officer at Viptone Education Systems, senior vice president at Tachyon Inc., and founding board member at Netscape Communications. Throughout a diverse career that began at Apple Computer in 1983, Liebhold has specialized in media technologies, geospatial information systems, and high-speed communications. Education consists of ongoing real-world experiences since 1970.
