Brian Young

Brian Young is a seasoned executive and scientist with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of International Accreditation New Zealand since July 2021 and as Director at GNS Science from June 2023, Brian has also held notable positions such as Board Member at the Museum of Transport and Technology from September 2019 to September 2023 and Director at the Defence Technology Agency from April 2012 to July 2021. Brian's academic background includes a PhD in Neuroscience from Dartmouth College and a BSc(Hons) from the University of Canterbury. Prior roles also encompass Director of Research at the University of Otago and Science & Technology Counsellor at the Ministry of Research, Science & Technology, highlighting a robust commitment to research and technology initiatives. Brian was also a Senior Scientist at HortResearch from 2000 to 2004.
