Senior Research Psychologist at Institute of Mental Health

Max Lam is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in cognitive and mental health research. Currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Deputy Science Director at the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore, Max Lam is focused on advancing cognitive health through genetic research. At the Institute of Mental Health, Max Lam holds the position of Senior Research Psychologist, leading the CONCISE Mental Health Study, and previously established the IMH Neuropsychiatric Genomics Laboratory. Furthermore, Max Lam is a Visiting Research Scientist at multiple prestigious institutions, including the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, the Feinstein Institute, and Massachusetts General Hospital, where contributions to large-scale genomic studies on schizophrenia and cognitive function are made. Max Lam earned a PhD in Cognitive Genetics from the National University of Singapore and holds bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Arts from the same university and James Cook University, respectively.
