Roger Tan

Principal Medical Social Worker at Institute of Mental Health

Roger Tan has over 15 years of work experience in the fields of social work and mental health. Roger started their career in 2004 at the Institute of Mental Health as a Principal Medical Social Worker. In 2015, they joined the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) as an Associate Instructor. In 2019, they worked as a Principal Social Worker at the Ministry of Social and Family Development, Singapore (MSF).

Roger Tan completed their Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours in Social Work) from the National University of Singapore in 2004, followed by a Master of Social Work from Monash University in 2009. Roger then pursued a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Behavioural Science from Monash University in 2011. Roger also completed their O levels at Tanjong Katong Secondary School in 1995 and their A levels at Tampines Junior College in 1997. In addition, they obtained various certifications in mental health investigation, research ethics, conflicts of interest, and advance care planning facilitation.
