Judy Stermer is the Chief Advancement Officer at The Institute of Professional Practice. Judy has over fifteen years of experience in the field of communications and public affairs.

Judy started their career at the Vermont Foodbank, where they served as the Director of Communications and Public Affairs for eleven years. In this role, Judy was responsible for developing and implementing communications plans, overseeing media relations, and editing all materials. Judy also served as the primary liaison between the press and staff, and maintained the food bank's website and social media content.

In 2014, Judy left the Vermont Foodbank to become a Dirt Diva Instructor at Vermont Works for Women. In this role, Judy led multiple week-long summer mountain bike camps for middle school girls. Judy taught a curriculum that included mountain biking excursions and fostering supportive friendships and healthy approaches to challenge among participants.

In 2017, Judy became the Director of External Affairs at the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems. In this role, Judy developed communications plans, oversaw and coordinated interactions between press and staff, maintained website and social media content, served as editor-in-chief of all materials, and provided support to member hospital public relations staff.

Judy is currently the Chief Advancement Officer at The Institute of Professional Practice. In this role, Judy oversees all fundraising activities, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, capital campaigns, and special events. Judy also manages communications and marketing for the institute.

Judy Stermer has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Religious Studies from the University of Dayton. Judy is also a Certified Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and has a Certificate of Nonprofit Management from Marlboro College Graduate & Professional Studies.

Judy Stermer works with Steve Schultz - Chief People Officer, Erica Hare - CFO, and Jennifer Peck - Executive Administrative Coordinator/Special Projects. Their manager is Lou Giramma, CEO.
