Bruno Broucker serves as the Head of the Education Office at the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp since March 2018 and holds the position of Chair and Executive Committee member for EAIR - The European Higher Education Society since September 2018. Currently, Bruno is also a member of the Editorial Board for Tertiary Education and Management and the Editor in Chief for the book series "Higher Education: Linking Research, Policy and Practice" at Brill. With an extensive academic career at KU Leuven, Bruno has filled various roles including Visiting Professor at the Public Governance Institute, Assistant Professor, Research Fellow, and Senior Researcher, focusing on higher education policy and governance. Educational achievements include a PhD in Social Sciences from KU Leuven, along with Master's degrees in Public Management and Sociology. Bruno has contributed to various research projects and education initiatives aimed at enhancing public sector innovation and governance in higher education.

The Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium (ITM) is one of the world's leading institutes for training, research and assistance in tropical medicine and health care in developing countries. The ITM houses three scientific departments, a specialised outpatient clinic and various support services, and employs over 400 staff. The institute draws its core funding from the Flemish Ministries of Education and Science, and the Federal Ministries of Development Cooperation, Public Health and Social Affairs, international project financing and own income. The ITM works with many scientific institutions, governments and organisations all over the world for a long-lasting improvement of health care and disease control in developing countries.
