David Edwards serves as Honorary Treasurer at the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) since July 2022 and holds the position of Visiting Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University since November 2015. Previously, David worked in various roles at KBR/Granherne from December 2009 to August 2020, including Head Consultant and Risk, Health, and Safety Manager, and served as Working Environment Lead Engineer for the K2JV on the Statoil Johan Sverdrup Living Quarters project from May 2015 to March 2018. David began career as Lead Engineer HSE at Granherne (KBR) from October 2006 to December 2009, primarily in Moscow, leading workshops in HAZID, HAZOP, and ENVID. Prior consultancy experience in process safety occurred from 2002 to October 2006, and David was a Senior Lecturer at Loughborough University from 1990 to 2002. Educational qualifications include a BEng and PhD in chemical engineering from Imperial College London and a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from North Nottinghamshire College.
