George Long

George Long has twenty-two years of experience in the private investment industry. He is currently a Senior Portfolio Manager in Vestcor\'s private equity department. Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Vestcor provides investment management and benefit administration services for several public sector-based client groups that total more than $18.5 billion in assets. Mr. Long has responsibility for sourcing, structuring, and managing fund investment mandates in North America, Western Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. He also leads the firm\'s private equity co-investment program and was awarded the Canadian Venture Capital Association’s 2012 Venture Capital ‘Deal of the Year’ Award for his direct investment in Q1 Labs Inc. Prior to 2002, Mr. Long served as an Investment Manager at an early-stage venture capital fund that focused on the information technology and life sciences sectors. He began his career as a commercial banker with a major Canadian bank. Mr. Long holds both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Business Administration from Cape Breton University, along with a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary\'s University. He is also a holder of the Institute of Corporate Directors Director designation (ICD.D).
