Fernando Sanhueza Salas is a seasoned researcher with extensive experience in entomology. Currently serving as a Pesquisador Científico at the Secretaria de Agricultura e Abastecimento - Instituto Biológico since January 1997, Fernando leads the Laboratory of Vector Insect Study of Phytopathogens within the Laboratory of Phytovirology and Physiopathology. Academically, Fernando holds a Doctor of Science degree in Entomology from the Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz - ESALQ/USP, obtained in 2004, as well as a Licenciatura and Bacharelado in Biological Sciences from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, completed in 1991. Previous experience includes a role as a Biologist at BANESER S/A from January 1992 to January 1994, focusing on the characterization of phytoviruses and vector transmission processes.
