Carlos Basso is an experienced professional in commercial and financial management, currently serving as Diretor comercial at Pegada Neutra and holding associate roles at Instituto Caldeira and EA Angels. Since November 2019, Carlos has also been the Diretor administrativo at Embasul, leading the Commercial, Financial, Accounting, and HR sectors of a long-established packaging company. Prior to this, Carlos was Gerente Financeiro at CTS Ambiental, overseeing the financial and HR departments of the leading non-ferrous recyclable waste management company in Rio Grande do Sul from 2014 to 2019. Carlos began a career in finance consulting at Accenture, focusing on shared service centers and financial process optimization from 2010 to 2014, and co-founded a startup at Tecnopuc in 2005. Carlos holds an Engineer degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and attended KTH Royal Institute of Technology for industrial economy studies.

We are a non-profit institute that connects people and initiatives through our innovation hub and its community, in order to improve competitiveness and the ecosystem of the new economy. We were founded by 42 major companies in Rio Grande do Sul. Our purpose is to drive positive and lasting transformation in our state by means of innovation. We are located in an old industrial complex (22000m² in size) that still houses the boilers imported from Europe by AJ Renner in the 1920s. The Instituto Caldeira (Boiler Institute) is a space dedicated to innovative activities and the new economy. It also acts as the center for the research, technology and innovation activities of many companies.
