Manuel Santos

Manuel Santos is a Cryptography Engineer at Nillion since May 2023 and has been pursuing a PhD in Cryptography at Instituto de Telecomunicações since September 2019. Previously, Manuel worked as a Data Scientist at Tekever from December 2017 to September 2019, where Manuel developed a production-ready recommendation engine using Python, Neo4j, and Docker, and contributed as a Cryptography Researcher focusing on quantum technologies. Earlier work includes research in Ergodic Theory at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian as part of the New Talents in Mathematics program. Manuel holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Security from Instituto Superior Técnico (2019-2023), a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from Imperial College London (2016-2017), and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computation from Instituto Superior Técnico (2013-2016). Education began with an International Baccalaureate at Colégio Planalto (2005-2013).
