U.S. Delegate to ISO Technical Committee 279 for ISO 56000 Innovation Management Standards at Integrated Computer Solutions. Inc. (ICS)

Tom Brazil, CMI-CIO, has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of innovation and technology. Tom is currently serving as the Chief Digital & Innovation Officer at Integrated Computer Solutions, Inc. (ICS), where they lead the ICS Labs Innovation Research and Development division and is responsible for technical solutioning for proposals. Additionally, they are also the U.S. Delegate to ISO Technical Committee 279 for ISO 56000 Innovation Management Standards.

Tom has also held the position of Chief Innovation Officer at RedTeam Engineering, a joint venture with ICS, where they focused on driving innovation within the company. Tom has contributed as a contributing author for Future Fit Manifesto and has been a Member of the Board of Directors for the International Association of Innovation Professionals since 2019, working towards advancing innovation measurement and management best practices globally.

Earlier in their career, Tom held positions at Axway and Systar, where they served as a Fellow, Chief Architect & Analytics Product Manager and Systar Fellow, BAM Innovation respectively. At Axway, they were responsible for driving technical innovation and product management, while at Systar, they managed R&D and services personnel and led technical innovations for product evolution, with a focus on business analytics.

Prior to these roles, Tom worked as a Senior Systems Analyst at Unisys and served in the United States Air Force, where they developed software to automate performance analysis and system tuning for enhanced mainframe performance. Tom was also a technical lead for the PACAF Innovation Tiger Team and received a by-name assignment to develop performance management and capacity planning software at the USAF Software Design Center.

Through their various roles and experiences, Tom Brazil has demonstrated their expertise and leadership in the field of innovation and technology, contributing to the advancement of innovation management practices and driving technical innovation within organizations.

Tom Brazil, CMI-CIO, attended Kent State University starting in 1984, where they studied Information Science. Tom also attended the University of Maryland Asian Division for Information Science, although the specific start and end years are unknown. In terms of additional certifications, Tom has obtained several certifications related to technology and innovation. These include the GitLab Solutions Architect Core Verified Associate from GitLab in May 2023, the AWS Partner: Foundations for Public Sector (Business) (Classroom) from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in April 2022, and the AWS Partner: Cloud Economics Accreditation from AWS in June 2021. Tom also obtained the CMI-Chief Innovation Officer certification from the IAOIP - INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INNOVATION PROFESSIONALS in January 2020, the CPI-Management of Innovation certification from the International Association of Innovation Professionals in August 2017, and the CMMI V2.0 Building Development Excellence and CMMI V2.0 Foundations and Capability certifications from the CMMI® Institute in February 2020.
