Michael Buhagiar has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and positions. Michael started their career as an Erasmus summer intern at Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin, where they conducted research on extracting natural products from herbs and spices. Michael then worked as a research intern at Empa, focusing on improving the mechanical properties of composite materials.
In 2016, Michael joined CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives as a master thesis student, working on a project related to graphene nanosheet-based electrodes. Michael also carried out a project on depositing a conformal coating of PEDOT.
Following this, Michael joined STMicroelectronics as a process engineer, specializing in dispensing technologies. Michael'sresponsibilities included managing the solder electroplating process for various package lead-frames and contributing to the industrialization of new products.
Currently, Michael works at Integrated Graphene as a senior process engineer, where they utilize their expertise in process engineering.
Michael Buhagiar completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry with Materials from the University of Malta, where they studied Materials Science & Chemistry from 2010 to 2013. Michael then pursued a Erasmus Mundus Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from KU Leuven in 2014 to 2016, followed by another Erasmus Mundus Master of Science (M.Sc.) in the same field from Université Grenoble Alpes in 2015 to 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Michael Buhagiar has obtained several certifications. These include "Managing Your Small Business" from LinkedIn in June 2020, "Intermediate Python" and "Introduction to Python" from DataCamp in May 2020, "Protecting Profitability by Reducing Financial Risk" from LinkedIn in May 2020, "Running a Profitable Business: Understanding Cash Flow" from LinkedIn in April 2020, and a "Basic Web Design Course" from STC Malta in 2010.
