Marcin Piechota

Marcin Piechota has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and companies. Marcin is currently the Chief Technology Officer & Co-founder at intelliseq, a position they have held since November 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a research associate and PhD student at Instytut Farmakologii PAN from November 2007 to September 2012. Marcin also served as a Lecturer at AGH University of Science and Technology from August 2017 to February 2018. Marcin has held visiting scientist positions at Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg and Inra - Centre Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées in 2015 and 2014, respectively. Additionally, they worked as a Lecturer at Jagiellonian University from September 2006 to September 2012. Marcin has also gained experience as a Data Analyst at GenBioInfo and mCapital from May 2009 to August 2012 and April 2007 to February 2010, respectively. Marcin started their career as a research assistant at Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology from June 2007 to June 2009.

Marcin Piechota has a diverse educational background primarily focused on computer science and biology. In 2000, they obtained an MSc in Applied Psychology from Jagiellonian University, followed by an MSc in Biology from the same university in 2006. Marcin then pursued a PgDip in Database Systems at AGH University of Krakow from 2009 to 2010.

In parallel to their studies, Marcin engaged in research and obtained a PhD in Medical Biology (bioinformatics) from the Institute of Pharmacology PAS in 2012. This further enhanced their expertise in the field.

Additionally, Marcin acquired two certifications to supplement their educational qualifications. In May 2008, they became a Java Sun Certified Programmer, and in July 2013, they obtained the SpringSource Certified Spring Professional certification from VMware.
