Jorge Guzman, Ph.D., serves as the Temporary Alternate Executive Director-Senior Counselor at the Inter-American Development Bank since December 2022 and is a Visiting Researcher at the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service. With extensive experience in public policy and international relations, Jorge has held various roles including Columnist for Vanguardia and Senior Consultant at CJR Renewables, where efforts focused on renewable energy projects in Colombia. Jorge's diplomatic career includes positions as Consul General of Colombia in Calgary and Coordinator of Colombia’s Borders Plan at the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where strategic social and economic development initiatives were designed and implemented. Jorge holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago and multiple degrees specializing in public management and international relations.
