Marieke Goettsch

Marieke Goettsch is a Competitiveness, Technology and Innovation Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank since November 2020, focusing on policy dialogue and project implementation in Uruguay. Previously, Marieke served as a Senior Policy Manager at Nesta, where responsibilities included forming partnerships and advising on innovative growth strategies. Marieke also worked as an Innovation-Lab Consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank from 2015 to 2019, and as an Education Consultant with the World Bank Group from 2011 to 2015, contributing to education projects in Western Africa and Latin America. Earlier roles include Course Coordinator for GIZ GmbH and the German Government, Research Assistant at the University of Cologne and CIDOB, and a trainee at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. Marieke holds a Diploma in Latin American Studies from the University of Cologne and studied International Relations at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
