Colleen Tholen Pharmd

Colleen Tholen, PharmD, has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on medical information and pharmacy account management. Colleen currently holds the position of Director, Global Medical Information at Intercept Pharmaceuticals since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director and then Senior Manager of Global Medical Information at the same company from January 2019 to July 2021.

Colleen also has experience as a Preceptor in the Rutgers/Intercept Medical Affairs Fellowship program at the Rutgers Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship (RPIF) Program, starting in August 2021.

Before joining Intercept Pharmaceuticals, they worked at Avanir Pharmaceuticals as a Manager and later as an Associate Manager of Medical Information from April 2016 to January 2019.

Colleen's career in the pharmaceutical industry began at Sandoz, where they served as a Quality Control Chemist from 2008 to 2010. Colleen then went on to complete a Global Pharmaceutical Sciences Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Allergan from 2014 to 2015.

Colleen Tholen's work experience also includes a role as a Senior Pharmacy Account Specialist at Sanofi from 2015 to 2016.

Colleen Tholen, PharmD, completed their education starting in 2004 at Regis University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree in French and Chemistry in 2008. In 2006, they also studied at Institut catholique de Paris to further their French language skills. Colleen then attended the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences from 2010 to 2014, earning a PharmD degree.

After completing their PharmD, Colleen pursued a Pharmaceutical Industry Postdoctoral Fellowship in Regulatory Science at the University of Southern California from 2014 to 2015.

In terms of additional certifications, Colleen Tholen has obtained the AWE | Accelerator Foundations certification from AWE in January 2022. Colleen has also completed training in CPR/AED Certification-BLS for Healthcare Providers, Delivering Medication Therapy Management Services, Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery, and The Pharmacist & Patient-Centered Diabetes Care. Furthermore, they are a Registered Pharmacist with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
