Alaa Bahr

Alaa Bahr has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Alaa has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

Alaa currently works at INTEREL as an Applications Engineering Manager since February 2023. In this role, they lead a team of engineers, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion. Alaa is responsible for hiring, training, and providing mentorship to new team members. Alaa collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to align the engineering team's work with the company's goals.

Prior to INTEREL, Alaa worked as a Lead Server Engineer from January 2021 to January 2023. Their main objective was to lead the application development team to meet business needs. Alaa managed projects related to web, cloud, mobile, and server development. Alaa also converted monolithic solutions into micro-services for the company.

Before that, Alaa held the position of Senior Server Side Engineer from October 2016 to January 2021. In this role, they supervised research and development operations, managed server-side operations, and provided innovative solutions to resolve issues. Alaa also collaborated with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on database and application architecture.

Alaa's earlier work experience includes positions at Dubai Municipality, where they worked as a Technical Lead in 2016, and at the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department, where they also served as a Technical Lead from December 2013 to January 2016. In both roles, they supervised the design and development of software, ensuring adherence to requirements and overseeing the system specification review process.

Alaa's career began at AVANSYS Infotech in Dubai, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from February 2006 to February 2008. Alaa collaborated with the Product Management team and fellow software engineers to analyze requirements and produce technical designs. Alaa wrote clean and robust code to implement desired functionality.

Before that, Alaa worked at eKnowledge as a Software Engineer from February 2005 to January 2006, where they designed, developed, and maintained software on the Microsoft .Net platform.

One of Alaa's earliest positions was at Coldwell Banker Middle East, where they worked as a Software Engineer from September 2004 to February 2005. Alaa participated in the system analysis, design, and implementation of the Enterprise Performance Optimizer (EPO), a web-based CRM + ERP software solution for Coldwell Banker.

Alaa Bahr holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Modern Academy in Maadi. In addition, Alaa has obtained several certifications from Microsoft, which include DEVOPS200.1x: DevOps Practices and Principles (obtained in October 2018), DAT204x: Introduction to R for Data Science (obtained in July 2017), DAT101x: Data Science Orientation (obtained in March 2017), DAT201x: Querying with Transact-SQL (obtained in March 2017), DAT207x: Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI (obtained in March 2017), and MCP: Programming in C# (obtained in May 2013).
