MacHada Smith-McGovern

Machada Smith-McGovern is an experienced professional in staff engagement and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) management, currently serving as the Staff Engagement & DEI Manager at InterExchange since 2017. Previous roles include Organizational Development Associate and Employer Relations Specialist at Translator, Inc. (2021-2023), and Senior DEI Facilitator & Consultant at Global LT, Inc. (2013-2016). While at Global LT, Machada coordinated nearly 2,000 language classes for Fortune 500 employees as the Senior Language Training Coordinator for the Asia Pacific region. Earlier experiences encompass Education/Advocacy Specialist at The Research Foundation for SUNY, Summer Chinese Teacher at HEAF, Conference Coordinator for the USA National Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010, and internships with Save the Children International and ChildFund International. Machada holds a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature and International Studies from The University of Kansas and a certification in Advanced Chinese Language and Literature from Peking University.
