Jake Van Alstyne has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Jake is currently working as a Senior Backend Engineer at Interfolio since September 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at Kantata from September 2017 to September 2022.
Before these roles, Jake held multiple positions as an iOS Developer. Jake worked at Munkee Apps from October 2015 to July 2017, where they were involved in iOS development, implemented original ideas, bug fixes, and feature enhancements for existing products. During their tenure, they played a key role in helping the Instasize app reach #6 in its category, built a video editor, and revamped the UI/UX.
Jake also worked as a Senior iOS Developer at Selfie Inc. from May 2014 to September 2015. Jake improved enterprise reporting modules in an internal iOS application and created a custom tree-based reporting view.
Furthermore, Jake has experience as an iOS Developer at USANA Health Sciences from March 2014 to April 2014 and at NTT Innovation Institute, Inc. from September 2013 to February 2014. Additionally, they worked at Stem Innovation from May 2013 to September 2013.
Before specializing in iOS development, Jake gained experience as a Software/Graphics Engineer at K'nowbe Works, LLC from April 2012 to November 2012. Jake developed 3D interactive Windows components using C++, OpenGL, OSG, and GLSL. Jake also improved the core graphics engine and developed visually striking fully interactive 3-dimensional engineering design tools.
Jake started their career as a Software Engineer at Flexsim Software Products, Inc. from December 2011 to March 2012. Jake was part of the product development team, primarily working on the core products in C++ using the Windows API. Jake made numerous improvements to the main product GUI and design, as well as the core graphics and simulation engine.
Additionally, Jake worked as a Teaching Assistant/Graduate Instructor at the University of Utah from January 2009 to December 2011. Jake also briefly served as a Software Engineer at the Software Development Center at SCI, where they developed a web portal for an advertising service using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and JQuery-UI.
Jake Van Alstyne attended the University of Utah from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Following this, they pursued further education at the same institution, completing their Master of Science degree in Computing from 2010 to 2012.
