Debora Ley

Lead Author at IPCC

Debora Ley, PhD, serves as the Chief of the Energy and Natural Resources Unit and an Economic Affairs Officer at ECLAC since November 2018. In addition, Debora Ley has been a Lead Author for the IPCC since February 2017, contributing to the assessment of global warming impacts. Active in various editorial roles, Debora Ley is a member of the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management and Editor for Sense & Sustainability. Debora Ley also holds a position on the Scientific Council for Latinoamérica Renovable and mentors students on solar energy initiatives through Engineers Without Borders USA. Previous experience includes being a Renewable Energy Expert for Tetra Tech and providing consultancy services in energy and climate-related projects across multiple organizations. Debora Ley's academic credentials include a DPhil from the University of Oxford, along with other degrees in engineering and renewable energy.
