Success Over Stigma Program Coordinator at Interim

Kontrena McPheter serves as the Coordinator of Peer Empowerment and Advocacy at Interim Inc., a position held since June 2009, where responsibilities include recruiting, orienting, and training over 50 mental health clients to share their recovery stories, significantly aiding in stigma reduction. Additionally, Kontrena was a Client Expert for the Client Stakeholder Project from July 2013 to June 2015, focusing on stakeholder process improvements in mental health services. Previous roles include Program Coordinator at Stamp Out Stigma and consumer involvement at Monterey County Behavioral Health, where notable achievements include leading the first consumer-led Mental Health Fair in Monterey County and earning the Kristian Hart Memorial Award in 2008.
