Dan Sommerfeld

Dan Sommerfeld is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in product design and engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Product Designer at Interkal LLC since January 2012, Dan also operates By Hand Ceramics, a venture established in October 2003. Previously, Dan worked as a Design Engineer at ITW Dahti Seating from May 2004 to December 2011, focusing on seating applications utilizing suspension fabrics and plastics. Dan's career began as an Industrial Designer, Design Engineer, and Project Manager at Ameriform from November 1994 to April 2004. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design with a focus on Art and Mathematics from Western Michigan University, completed between 1990 and 1994, and additional education at GMI EMI (now Kettering) from 1988 to 1990.
