Director Of Interdisciplinary Arts at Interlochen

Clyde Sheets has a diverse work experience in the arts and events industry. Clyde has served as the Director of Interdisciplinary Arts at the Interlochen Center for the Arts since 2018, overseeing the curriculum and guiding students in their arts study. Prior to this, Clyde worked as a consultant and lead designer for C3 Designs, where they managed facilities, taught in higher education positions, and designed various shows. Clyde also has experience as a lighting designer at Grand Valley State University and as an adjunct lecturer at Muskegon Community College. Clyde has taught design and production as an instructor at Interlochen Center for the Arts and served as a production manager/lecturer at San Francisco State University. Clyde has also held positions such as president at Cabrillo PTO and lecturer at Mills College. Additionally, Clyde has worked as a lighting director/production stage manager for the Other Minds Festival and as a technical director for the Stern Grove Festival. Throughout their career, Clyde has demonstrated expertise in lighting design, event management, teaching, and leadership.

Clyde Sheets completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Stage Directing/Sculpture from Central Michigan University in 1987. Later, in 2010, they obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Production and Design with an emphasis on Lighting from San Francisco State University. Additionally, Clyde Sheets also attended Central Michigan University for their undergraduate studies in Theater and Sculpture, but the specific years are unknown.
