Dave Tanis

Dave Tanis has a diverse work experience, primarily in the fields of wellness, community engagement, and sports coaching. Dave recently served as the Director of Recreation and Wellness at Interlochen Center for the Arts since July 2016. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Wellness and Community Engagement at Battle Creek Family YMCA from November 2014 to July 2016.

Before their roles in the wellness industry, Tanis worked at Kellogg Company for a significant period, starting as a Health Promotion Specialist in January 1996 and later transitioning into the role of Wellness and Field Engagement in January 1999, where they worked until November 2014.

In addition, they gained experience as a Lacrosse Coach at Olivet College from 2009 to 2012 and as a Facility Manager at Harris Health Trends from 2000 to 2005.

Dave Tanis attended Western Michigan University from 1986 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in exercise science. Dave also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Community Health, specializing in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
