Interlochen
Eric Stomberg is an accomplished musician and educator with extensive experience in music performance and instruction. Currently serving as the Director of Music at Interlochen Center for the Arts since September 2001, Eric also holds multiple roles there, including Instructor of Bassoon and Director of Music for Summer Programs. Eric previously worked at the University of Kansas from August 2004 to May 2023 as a Professor of Bassoon and Associate Dean for Performance Activities. From January 2018 to December 2021, Eric held the position of President of the International Double Reed Society and was a bassoonist with City Music Cleveland from 2006 to 2010. Prior academic roles include Assistant Professor of Bassoon at Ohio University from 2000 to 2004. Eric Stomberg earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Bassoon Performance and a Master of Music degree in Bassoon Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in Bassoon Performance from The University of Kansas.
