Director Of Diversity, Equity And Inclusion at Interlochen

Esther T. has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Esther currently serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Prior to this, they were the Associate Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the same organization. Esther also co-founded and served as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at The Journey Theatre Project, where they developed innovative DEI engagement strategies and facilitated dialogue on important topics. Additionally, they have worked as a Co-Chair Board Member at City Year and as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. Esther's expertise also extends to the field of education, where they worked as a Diversity and Inclusion Consultant at The Co-op School and as an Assistant Director at CUNY SPS Creative Arts Team. Esther has further demonstrated their commitment to creating safe spaces for dialogue as the Director Implicit Bias Facilitator and Consultant at Basic Bitch of the Resistance. Earlier in their career, Esther gained experience as an Executive Assistant at TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P., focused on cultural competence, diversity and inclusion, and community engagement. Esther also has a background in project development and management, as well as legal support, from their roles at Life as a Lemon Production and Merrill Lynch, respectively.

Esther T. holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Music Theatre Performance from Western Michigan University, which was completed in the year 2001. Esther then pursued a Master's degree in Applied Theatre - Social Justice Theatre from CUNY School of Professional Studies from 2016 to 2019. In 2019, they also obtained a Certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.
