Scott Swanson

Scott Swanson is an experienced educational administrator currently serving as the Assistant Principal at Intermediate District 287's Career & Tech Center since August 2010, overseeing various programs including Pathways, Gateway, and Transition. Previously, Scott held roles as Assistant Principal and Assistant Supervisor at West Education Center, managing federal setting IV programs for students with emotional and behavioral disorders. With a background as a Program Facilitator and Personalized Learning Facilitator, Scott has also led initiatives to enhance professional learning and coordinated peer coaching across the district. Scott's teaching experience includes working as a secondary mathematics teacher and Innovation Coach in an EBD setting, and earlier positions as a math teacher at Northeast Metro 916 and a tutor for at-risk youth through Upward Bound. Scott holds a Master's degree in Education Specialist from Minnesota State University, Mankato, a Master's of Special Education focusing on Emotional Behavioral Disorders from the University of St. Thomas, and a Bachelor's degree in Teaching Secondary Mathematics from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
