Mary Walsh

Appeals Officer at Internal Revenue Service

Mary Walsh currently serves as an Appeals Officer for the Internal Revenue Service since August 2022 and holds dual roles as a Subject Matter Expert and Manager of the Tax CPE Curriculum at Becker Professional Education since May 2021. Prior experience includes serving as an Adjunct Tax and Accounting Instructor at Florida Atlantic University from August 2008 to August 2022 and as the Tax Instructor and Credentialing Director, where responsibilities included directing faculty credentialing for accreditation. Additional roles include Assistant Editor for the Land Grant University Tax Education Foundation National Income Tax Workbook and various adjunct instructor positions at the University of Central Florida and Rollins College. Prior to academia, Mary Walsh held the position of Senior Manager at Ernst & Young from September 1996 to April 2005. Educational qualifications include an MS/MBA in Accounting from D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University, an LL.M in Taxation from Boston University School of Law, a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
