Nicole Welch

Nicole Welch is an experienced tax law professional with a focus on treaty and transfer pricing operations. Currently serving as the Director of Treaty & Transfer Pricing Operations at the Internal Revenue Service since July 2012, Welch has held multiple roles, including Acting Director of Advance Pricing & Mutual Agreement and Senior Manager of the Treaty Assistance and Interpretation Team. Prior to the IRS, Welch worked as an Associate at Covington & Burling LLP, providing legal advice on U.S. tax issues, and gained early experience as a Summer Associate at both Goodwin Procter LLP and Covington & Burling. Welch began a career in law as a Legal Assistant at Dewey Ballantine LLP, supporting attorneys in the international trade practice group. Educational credentials include a JD from the University of Chicago Law School and a BSFS in Regional and Comparative Studies from Georgetown University.
