Risa Williams Kornegay

Risa Williams Kornegay is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in tax law and mediation. Currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Commissioner at the Internal Revenue Service since October 2015, Risa has held various key roles including Director of the Executive Secretariat and Tax Law Specialist. Concurrently, Risa operates Williams Kornegay Mediation, providing conflict resolution services for elder disputes. Previously, Risa was the Editor in Chief of Tax Analysts’ state tax publications and has contributed as an adjunct professor at George Mason University School of Law. Risa holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Virginia, along with mediation training from Mediation Matters.
