Alvaro Pons has extensive experience in the aviation industry, currently serving as the Head of Standardization Settlement at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since April 2006. Responsibilities include setting the global strategy for settlement departments, ensuring alignment with IATA's financial architecture, and coordinating global settlement projects. Previously, Alvaro held the position of Head of Remittance & Settlement, overseeing a team of 90 and managing operations across 181 countries. Additionally, Alvaro served as Country Manager for Belgium and Luxembourg, managing day-to-day operations and implementing key industry projects. Prior experience includes a role as Business Development Manager at Ernst & Young. Alvaro holds an MBA from IESE Business School and a Master's in Law from the University of Valencia, along with certification in Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
