Nikki Philline C. de la Rosa

Country Director, Philippines at International Alert

Nikki has over two decades of professional experience in politico-economic research and programme management, working with international and local NGOs, and academia.

Before joining International Alert, she led the peacebuilding, information and education services of the NGO Alternate Forum for Research in Mindanao and was Research Associate and Learning Center Coordinator of the University of the Philippines Open University from 1996–2008.

She co-authored the chapter, ‘Robustness in data and methods: Scoping the real economy of Mindanao’ in their publication Out of the shadows: Violent conflict and the real economy of Mindanao (2013), which won the 2017 National Book Award for social science.

She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of the Philippines, and an MSc in Development Studies (with distinction) from the London School of Economics.
