Jennifer Merriman

Jennifer Merriman, PhD, is a seasoned education researcher and leader with extensive experience in various prominent organizations. Currently serving as the Global Director of Research, Policy & Design and Global Head of Research & Design at the International Baccalaureate since November 2020, Jennifer focuses on advancing effective educational cultures and adhering to rigorous research methods. Prior to this role, Jennifer held senior positions at Newsela and The College Board, where responsibilities included leading research agendas and managing K-12 research initiatives. Earlier in the career at Rutgers University, Jennifer contributed as a Research Scientist and Post Doctoral Fellow, conducting essential evaluations and studies in education. Jennifer holds a PhD in Cognitive Studies in Education from the University of Pittsburgh and dual bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Communications from Rutgers University.
