Catherine Kent

Programme Lawyer, Human Rights Institute at International Bar Association

Catherine Kent is an experienced legal professional with a focus on human rights and multilateral operations. Currently serving as a Deployable Civilian Expert within the UK Government's Stabilisation Unit since June 2021, Catherine also holds the position of Programme Lawyer at the International Bar Association's Human Rights Institute since April 2020. Previous roles include serving as a Human Rights Officer at the OSCE from October 2018 to March 2020 and as a Human Rights Project Officer at the University of Essex from October 2015 to September 2018. Catherine's early career includes leadership experience as a Team Leader at International Service UK and research as a Research Associate at the University of Essex. Additionally, Catherine gained legal experience as a Law Clerk at the ICTY. Catherine holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from the University of Essex and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nottingham.
