John Jorgenson

President at International Camping Fellowship

John Jorgenson is the current president of the International Camping Fellowship and has been in the camping industry for over 45 years. John started as a director at Camp Tawingo, a year-round outdoor recreation centre, and was responsible for program design and implementation, coordinator of international group registration and logistics, director of summer staff training, hiring and training of program staff throughout the year. John was also a part of the management team for all aspects of camp operation. After their time at Camp Tawingo, John became the past-president of the International Camping Fellowship. The International Camping Fellowship is a worldwide organization of camping professionals dedicated to improving the connections between individuals, camps and camping groups from any country where youth development is taking place through the effective use of outdoor experience, experiential education, non-formal education and camp-style activities. The organization was founded in 1987 and has supported the formalization of the international camping community by assisting in the formation of camping associations where none existed, endorsing international congresses on related subjects, providing scholarships to young camp leaders to attend training events, running training programs in the field and assisting in the development of exchange opportunities amongst staff and campers. John has been involved with the International Camping Fellowship for 1 year 9 months.

John Jorgenson attended the University of Waterloo from 1969 to 1974, where they earned a BSc. Hon in Biology.
