Marcelo Moreira

Marcelo Moreira is an experienced professional currently serving as the Coordinator of the Correspondence Group on the Further Development of the LCA Framework at the International Maritime Organization since July 2023, and as Co-Lead on Indirect Land Use Change for CORSIA at the International Civil Aviation Organization since January 2022. Marcelo has been a Senior Researcher at Agroicone since January 2013, focusing on agricultural economics, land use change, and climate change mitigation, and previously held research positions at ICONE and LACEEP. Academic contributions include roles as a teaching assistant and professor assistant at prestigious institutions such as the University of São Paulo and PUC-Rio. Marcelo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, a Master's in Economics from USP, and a PhD in Energy Planning from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, complemented by a fellowship in Climate Smart Agriculture from USDA.
