Ruth Hutchinson has extensive experience in the field of financial crime compliance. Ruth currently holds the position of Director of Product Design at the International Compliance Association, a role they assumed in October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director and Head of ICA Learning from June 2019 to October 2022. From January 2017 to June 2019, Ruth was the Head of Financial Crime Compliance at ICA, where they led a team of compliance practitioners and acted as an industry thought leader on financial crime risks.
Before joining ICA, Ruth worked at Barclaycard from October 2015 to October 2016 as the Director and Head of Financial Crime Strategy and Control. In this role, they were responsible for establishing a Financial Crime Compliance team and overseeing risk ownership and control performance. Ruth also served as a Senior Manager at Barclaycard from June 2013 to October 2015, providing oversight and guidance on financial crime risk mitigation.
Ruth's career in financial crime compliance began at Lloyds Banking Group, where they worked as a Senior Manager for the Financial Crime Coordination team from September 2010 to May 2013.

Ruth Hutchinson has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Psychology from the University of Northampton, which they are expected to complete in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies from the University of Lincoln, completing it in the years 2002-2005. Ruth has also earned additional certifications, including an ICA Fellow Membership in 2023, an ICA Diploma in Financial Crime in 2008, and a Fellow designation from the International Compliance Association in 2022.
