International Confederation of Midwives (ICM)
Sally Pairman is an accomplished midwifery professional with extensive experience in leadership and consultancy. Notable roles include serving as the Chief Executive and ICM Congress Coordinator Consultant for the International Confederation of Midwives, where significant contributions were made to the development of congress programs. As Co-Chair of the Regulation Standing Committee, Sally represents diverse ICM regions in promoting midwifery standards. Prior to this, Sally held various academic positions at Otago Polytechnic, ultimately achieving the rank of Professor of Midwifery and becoming the inaugural head of the School of Midwifery. Additionally, Sally served as the Chair of the Midwifery Council of New Zealand, playing a key role in establishing national midwifery governance. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Midwifery from the University of Technology Sydney and a Master of Arts in Midwifery from Victoria University of Wellington.

There are currently 140 Members Associations, representing 121 countries across every continent. ICM is organised in six regions: -Africa (Anglophone and Francophone) -Americas (North America & Caribbean and Latin America) -Western Pacific -Eastern Mediterranean -South East Asia -Europe (Northern, Central and Southern)
