Frederik Obermaier

Frederik Obermaier is a seasoned journalist currently serving as an Author at DER SPIEGEL and DER STANDARD, as well as holding the position of Member of the Board of Directors at ARIJ Network and Founder and Managing Director at paper trail media GmbH. With a strong foundation in investigative journalism, Obermaier was the Deputy Head of Investigative Research and an Author at Süddeutsche Zeitung until March 2022 and has been a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists since 2014. As a co-founder of the Anti-Corruption Data Collective, Obermaier demonstrates a commitment to transparency and accountability. Educational credentials include participation in the Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University and studies at both the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
