Kelly Bowden is an experienced leader in policy, communications, and advocacy within the non-profit sector. Currently serving as the Director of Policy and Communications at the International Development Research Centre since April 2024, Bowden previously held the position of Director of Policy, Advocacy and Government Relations at Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights from June 2022 to April 2024. Bowden's extensive tenure at Oxfam Canada from December 2011 to June 2022 included roles as Manager of Campaigns and Deputy Executive Director, focusing on influential advocacy strategies and public engagement initiatives. Prior experience also encompasses program management at The Otesha Project and educational roles at TransFair Canada. Bowden holds a Bachelor Honours degree in International Development Studies and Political Science from Queen's University.
