Joao Nabais

Vice President at International Diabetes Federation

Joao Nabais has an extensive and diverse work experience. Joao currently serves as the Vice Chancellor at the University of Évora since May 2022. Prior to this, they held the positions of Professor Associado com Agregação and Professor Auxiliar com Agregação at the same university from August 2021 to present and from April 2019 to August 2021 respectively.

In addition to their academic role, Nabais has also contributed to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in various capacities. Joao was appointed as the Vice President of IDF in January 2019. Furthermore, they served as the President of IDF Europe from an unknown start date until November 2015. Prior to their presidency, they held the position of President Elect from an unknown start date until 2012.

Nabais has also contributed to the University of Evora throughout their career. Joao worked as a Professor Auxiliar / Assistant Professor from January 2002 to April 2019. Furthermore, they served as the Pró-Reitor (member of the Rectorate Team) at the Universidade de Évora from January 2013 to May 2014.
