Arthur Guimarães

Board Member at International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers

Arthur Guimarães is a board member at the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers. Arthur was previously a CEO at Arthur Guimarães Architects and a professor at the Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo.

Born in Brazil, Guimarães has always been interested in art and design. After completing their undergraduate degree in architecture, they worked for a number of years in the industry before deciding to pursue a career in teaching. In 2018, they began teaching a course on Maya for Architects at the university.

In addition to their work in academia, Guimarães is also an accomplished architect. Arthur has designed a number of notable buildings in Brazil, including the headquarters of Apex-Brasil, one of the country's largest companies. Their work is characterized by its use of innovative technologies and its focus on sustainability.

Arthur Guimarães has an Executive Education from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in Real Estate Economics and Finance. Arthur also has a Postgraduate Degree from Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo in Management in Creative Economy, as well as a Postgraduate Degree in Digital Architecture and Parametric Projects from the same school. Furthermore, they have a Master’s Degree from the Architectural Association Design Research Lab (AADRL) at the Architectural Association, and a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais. In addition, Arthur Guimarães is certified by Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo as a Specialist in Management in Creative Economy, and also as a Specialist in Digital Architecture and Parametric Projects. Finally, they are certified by the Architectural Association as a Master of Architecture, and by Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais as a Bachelor of Architecture.
