Laurean Bwanakunu Rugambwa

Laurean Bwanakunu RUGAMBWA is an accomplished humanitarian leader with extensive experience in organizational management and resource mobilization across Africa. Currently serving as the Regional Head of Humanitarian Diplomacy for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies since November 2022, Laurean previously held several prominent positions including Director General and CEO of the Medical Stores Department from June 2015 to May 2020, and Executive Director of the Ariel Glaser Pediatric AIDS Healthcare Initiative from May 2011 to June 2015. Laurean's career also features roles such as Head of Resource Mobilization for the African Zone at the IFRC, Country Representative in Lesotho and Swaziland, and Director of Organizational Development for the Tanzania Red Cross Society. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Public Management from the University of Potsdam and a Bachelor of Laws from Tumaini University, along with a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from the University of Dar es Salaam.
